1.) How did you two meet?
We met at work at the YMCA when Adam was 22 and Taylor was 19. We were both lifeguards there when we met.
2.) How did he pop the question?
He invited Taylor's parents to dinner as well as her brother and was meant to do it during the dinner and ice cream outing but Adam got too nervous and popped the question at home in the living room, when we walked in the door. He was even too nervous to get on one knee! But I still happily said yes!
3.) What was your favorite moment(s) from the wedding?
Collectively, our favorite moment from the wedding was when we saw everyone there to celebrate us. Sitting at our table during dinner and looking around watching everyone sharing their love with us and coming out to celebrate our love for each other was truly amazing. Oh and when they said you may kiss the bride!
4.) How long have you been together?
We have been together for 5 years and have known each other for 6.
5.) How would you describe your overall wedding experience?
It was absolutely amazing! Things could not have gone smoother. The day was absolutely beautiful and all the vendors did a spectacular job! We are both pretty laid back people so even the planning process really wasn't much stress.
6.) What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding?
Take your time and don't worry about the small stuff. We imagined a wedding that was a reflection of who we are as a couple and as individuals and we really wanted to show that. Also take your time talking to vendors and finding a reception hall because they really play a huge role in how the wedding plays out and you want all the vendors to fit in to what you are imagining for the wedding day but really enjoy the process because it goes by so fast!
7.) What photography-related advice would you offer to a couple?
If you are looking for a certain vibe in the pictures find a photographer who fits that because they are the ones that are going to provide the memories for all the moments that you missed running around and enjoying yourself because you are not going to be able to see everything and be everywhere so having a photographer that can capture those moments is super amazing.
8.) Tell me about your dress. Where did you find it, how did you choose it, how did you know it was the one?
I went to Alexandria's Bridal Boutique and it was so easy! They sit down with you and go over styles of dresses that you like and pictures you may have saved. They have such a large collection it would be super overwhelming to explore the store on your own! After talking price point and vision they hand pick dresses that they believe you may like and let me tell you they did an amazing job! I only tried on 3 dresses before picking "the one" and I knew it was the ONE because it just gave me a feeling in my stomach that just screamed YESS! and not to mention my cousin, friend, mom, nana, and sister in law all cried as soon as I walked out! If that wasn't a sign I don't know what is!
9.) How was your experience taking photos/working with me on your wedding day?
It was so easy and exactly how we wanted it just like our engagement session! You gave us directions on how to stand and what to do that took the guessing game out of wondering if we looked okay! Not to mention you are so easy going, just like us and make everyone smile and have great ideas for pictures. Your visions for places to take pictures and which pictures to capture was exactly what we were looking for!
10.) Did you see each other before the wedding? If not, did you like waiting or would you have rather done it differently? Tell me why or why not!
We did not! I kicked Adam out of the house after the rehearsal dinner the night before so that we did not see each other the day of the wedding at all! I wanted the first time we see each other to be the moment I saw him at the end of the isle waiting for me and for him to see me as I walk towards him to spend the rest of our lives together! And it made the moment so breathtaking!
11.) Any tips on how to prepare for the wedding photos?
Just relax and trust your photographer. We were so thankful to pick a photographer that was simply amazing. We felt relaxed and at ease during the photo shoots and didn't have to worry about anything. Trusting in the abilities of the photographer and trusting in your abilities to pick the photographer that fits with what you want is important.
12.) Any tips that you have about preparing your wedding party for the photos? What did you tell them, how did you get them to cooperate, what did you do or what would you have done differently?
We didn't prepare them at all and I would say it went very smooth! We have a crowd that is a lot of fun and a lot of different personalities and that was showcased in the photos!
13.) Any tips on what to bring?
Clothes to change in to and a change of shoes!
14.) We love to hear about vendors you love. List any vendors here and feel free to share your experience. Be sure to include the name of the vendor, their profession, city/state, site or Facebook page and how your experience was!
DJ: Music on Wheels, New Bedford Ma- Pete and Tammy were so easy to plan music and to pick songs! They send out a contract with every detail on it that can help you plan out how you want to reception and then Tammy calls and you discuss the form in greater detail and to give advise based on her expertise on how things should go and songs to pick if you are struggling. It was really so easy to work with them and they had everybody on the dance floor the entire night! Their website is http://www.musiconwheels.us/
Cake: The Chocolate Rose, Mashpee Ma- Vanessa is the owner and who we had or cake and dessert table done by! She was so incredible! She sat down with me for over and an during the tasting and we discussed the vision, color scheme, other vendors, she basically covered every detail so that the cake fit in with the style and theme that you are going for. Not to mention the desserts were fantastic and everyone loved them! He website is www.chocolaterosecakes.com
Photo booth: Funfotos2go-Kathy is the owner of the shop and has a lot of different options for photo booths! We chose to go with the Mirror Booth, which is a full length mirror and so cool! Everyone loved it! Kathy has several different options for back drop and picture design and is super kind and reaches out when needed! Her husband hosted the photo booth at our wedding and he did an amazing job and we got so many amazing memories from the booth! You also get a USB with all the pictures as well as a photo album that has all the pictures and sayings/advise that guests wrote next to their photos which is so nice to be able to read when the night is over and to be able to look at everyone's great and funny pictures! 15.) Did you find a store/site that had everything you were looking for? Use this space to talk about favorite shops. You can include where you got your dress, sites you got your veils/décor/accessories, etc.
We pretty much got everything on Etsy and at Michael's! from decor to wedding party gifts! Our favorite shops on Etsy were: gifts: WhiteConfettiBox, GracePersonalized, ClearyLane, NicoleMEventsStudio, and LavishRobes!
Mainly everything about the decor came from Michael's! They often have great sales and great prices! We got flowers there for outdoors, table assignment cards, products to make wooden signs, jars, paint, and other DIY things to design the wedding with our vision.
16.) What were you most anxious, nervous or fearful about regarding your wedding day and what was the outcome?
TRAFFIC! That seriously was my only concern. Everything else went so smooth so there was really no other concern. Living on/near the cape and having a wedding on a Friday with Cape Cod bridge traffic was probably not the smartest decision because some folks were late and the bride was ALMOST late but it all worked out and turned out to be perfect!
17.) Have you had any prior photo sessions? If so, what type, and where?
Yes we did our engagement photos at Borderland State Park in Easton, picked by you and it was perfect!
18.) What kind of food was served at your reception?
We have grilled chicken and bourbon glazed steak tips that were amazing! We also had a vegetarian lasagna to choose from as well!
19.) What was the first song you danced to as husband and wife? Father-daughter dance? Mother-son dance?
First song as husband and wife was to Millionaire by Chris Stapleton. Father-daughter was You're Gonna Miss This by Trace Adkins and mother-son was Humble and Kind by Tim McGraw
