Anna and Justin's wedding was fabulous. I really enjoyed photographing them and getting to know them better. I hope you enjoy the photos and some of our conversation about their wedding (below the photos).
Stephen -So, who made your cake?
Anna & Justin - The cake was made by Anna's friend Emily. It was the 3rd time they made the cake, because the 1st and 2nd time they made it did not work out because they needed a better mixer. The 3rd time came out great!
Stephen -Where did you get your wedding dress?
Anna & Justin - The dress came from a store in Andover that gives free wedding gowns to our military & first responders. It's called Brides Across America
Stephen -Who made your bouquet and floral arrangements?
Anna & Justin - Our friend Nicole, from church, made them. She is a florist and made these for us. They came out great, She did a really nice job.
Stephen -Who was your DJ?
Anna & Justin - Our DJ was Dave Joyal from DJ Entertainment from Portsmouth NH.
Stephen -How did you two meet?
Anna & Justin - We met online, actually. On Catholicmatch.com
Stephen -How did you propose?
Justin - We went to Castle Island, (where we had one of our 1st dates) and I picked a quiet spot that was nice and peaceful and I just wanted it to be special.
Anna - There is a nice story about the ring. His grandma left him some jewelry and he had a jeweler melt it into the ring he gave me so that it is like something old with family history and new at the same time.
Stephen -Sounds like a new family heirloom. Very cool.
Justin - As soon as the ring came back from the jeweler I proposed the same day!
Stephen - What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?
Anna & Justin - The Ceremony, it was really special and it was really nice to have the four priests there. The reception was very enjoyable too. Especially the speeches. They were heartwarming. Dancing to Polish music too.
Stephen - What advice would you give other couples planning their wedding day?
Anna & Justin - Hire Stephen Sedman Photography! We were so impressed, you were working hard and the pictures came out great. Also, Make the best of what you get that day. No matter if the weather is bad or whatever people do, just make the best of it and don't sweat it. Enjoy the moments you have together. We did not have that many things go wrong and people say something will go wrong so don't freak out about it and don't let it ruin your day. Remember what's important and why you are there that day. Don't let the details get you crazy.
Stephen - Do you have any photography related advise you would offer another couple?
Anna & Justin - Hire Stephen of course, but we got the advise when we were planning to hire a good professional because that's what you will have after the wedding. It's not really about how much you spend, but make sure they are good and you see their work and like it and that you can work well with. For us that worked out great. (Justin) For example, my brother, he is overconfident as a photographer. He was a little surprised that I didn’t ask him to photograph the wedding. And I was like no, no, it’s OK. And after seeing how much work you put in throughout the day and how much equipment you had, i’m happy that we decided to pay a professional instead of just having a friend do it or family. I think a friend might pull off a few good pictures. There would be some special pictures in the end, but hiring a professional meant having a lot more to pick from and a lot more special moments that got captured in the end. A lot more variety from the professional. (Anna) going through those pictures just now brought back all the memories of the wedding. You can remember your wedding day for the rest of your life, and these images will help bring back those feelings and memories like you are there again.
